We support the plan that vaccination is the key to managing this pandemic and are keen to play our role. We are currently providing vaccines during dedicated vaccination clinics.
We have recently received an increased allocation of PFIZER vaccines and we are urging anyone who has booked an appointment for December to please contact us and bring this forward. Please do not wait this long to get vaccinated.
It was also announced on the 8th of October that a third dose of COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for those who are severely immunocompromised or taking particular immunotherapies.
The third dose is preferably Pfizer and is to be given 2 – 6 months after the second dose. If this applies to you, we encourage you phone us on 03 5332 1501 to arrange an appointment with one of our Doctors to discuss this in more detail and where appropriate receive your third dose, you can read more about the third dose criteria here.
The third dose criteria is very strict and unfortunately there are no exceptions. On the 28th of October, the Government announced that from the 8th of November 2021 everyone aged 18 years and over can book for their COVID-vaccine booster.
The current recommended booster is Pfizer (even if your first and second doses were AstraZeneca) and it must be at least six months after your second dose. If we did not provide you with your second dose, you must bring to your appointment a copy of your COVID vaccination certificate or have a My Health Record our practitioners can access. This is to ensure the booster is not given too early.
You can book your booster by calling us. 03 5332 1501
If you have not completed your primary course of COVID-19 vaccines you can still book for this and we urge you to do so as soon as possible.
